The Imaginary...

Yes, that's a tuba, and as of late we've been traveling with one. Not a real one. An imaginary one. And said tuba always seems to be placed exactly where I want to set my purse down.

"MOOOOOM, you just put your purse on my tuba," Eli complains.

I suspect that all of our traveling has kicked Eli's imagination into high gear. Maybe he's wanting something normal/constant/routine and it just so happens that the tuba plays that roll. I don't know.

"Guess what I have," he says to EVERY SINGLE PERSON we meet. "A tuba. You wanna hear me play it?" It's like his ice-breaker question and it works. He gets chuckles and feels at ease.

We've also apparently had knights riding in the car with us. We're required to open and close the doors to let them in and out of the car at every stop, and we oblige. The only time it's backfired on us is when Zach let the knights out at a stoplight and got the buttons mixed up for the automatic doors that are on the minivan we're renting during our travels. The stoplight turned GREEN and we were trying to close every single door on the van. Those automatic doors seem to take an eternity to close when there is a line of 5 cars honking behind you.

TOO cute and funny!!! Michael had an imaginary friend when he was younger, we always had to wait to make sure he was in the car and reopen the doors to let him out of the car, etc. UNTIL of course one day said imaginary friend (Donny) was walking "behind" the car to get in on the other side and we ran over him...viola...no more imaginary friend...that was a LONG 2 years before that happened though!!! LOL
