We were blessed to house some Turkish "sisters" this week. They were so filled with joy and I was really encouraged by them. We spoke so much Turkish around the house that by the week's end Eli was asking to sing specific songs in Turkish (which he never asks - he always prefers to speak in English when possible).
On Thursday, we invited over several other American kids to dye Easter eggs. 10 kids, 3 babies, and 3 mamas all crammed into my little kitchen to participate in the beloved tradition. Of course, Eli isn't even in this picture because his attention span only lasted for 2 dyed Easter eggs and then he was off putting on dress-up clothes to show the kids.

In addition to our Christian holiday, Easter, we also had a Turkish holiday this week. April 23rd is Childrens' Day in Turkey, and is celebrated with toys, fancy clothes, and spectacular shows. To celebrate Childrens' Day, Eli's school holds an annual Ball (yes, I know he's only 3). The kids get all dressed up, dance, watch a clown and magic show, wave Turkish flags, and eat sweets. Here's my little dude ready for his big day.
And, as always, we made several trips to the park this week.
