Weekend Adventures?

As we followed the line of rush hour traffic last night, we were situated directly behind a cargo delivery truck. Our best guess is that the cargo delivery driver was looking for an address when he suddenly realized that he missed it. Why do we think this? Because one minute we were following along behind him and the next minute he stopped, kicked it into reverse (which is common here, people go in reverse all the time) and backed right into us. Please note: WE ARE ALL FINE. There were no injuries. In fact, there wasn't even any screaming. It was more of a crunch into the car sort of fender bender. But, it was still a big deal because we're working in our second language here and trying to follow all of the laws (which is hard because everyone tells us something different). ANYWAY, our insurance company told us that any time a foreigner is in an accident the police have to be called. So, much to the dismay of the guy at fault we called the police. And we waited. About 15 minutes later, when the police still hadn't shown up we called them again. And we waited. Another 15 minutes went by and STILL NO POLICE. When Zach made the third call to the police they told him it would be between 1 - 1.5 hours before they would arrive. Wow, glad no one was hurt. Anyway, the police finally showed up and long story short, Zach ended up picking up the guy that hit us today to go to a repair shop to get it fixed. The guy paid out of pocket so that he didn't lose his job with the cargo company. It was quite a learning experience for us. But, that's life in a foreign land.
