In Matthew 28:19-20 Jesus tells his disciples, "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."
We believe that command applies to us as we raise our children as well; to baptize them and teach them to follow Jesus' teachings. So, on Thursday, July 22nd, we baptized Noah in our home here in Turkey. We had four friends gathered with us in our apartment but that wasn't the extent of our body of believers! We had our home pastor and 16 friends in St. Louis SKYPEd in on one computer, and Noah's godparents (the people who commit to praying for him and, should anything happen to us, promise to teach him to observe Jesus' commands) from Mansfield, TX SKYPEd in on another computer! SKYPE worked beautifully and it was technology at it's finest!
