Calm Mountain

This weekend we piled into a van with some friends (5 adults, 2 children, 2 babies) and headed for the mountains in Bolu, Turkey. The Bolu mountains easily rival the beauty of the Adirondacks but have all the eccentricities of Turkey (like cows grazing from property to property because there are no fences, and a 90-year-old woman cow hearder, donning village pants, following behind with her whip). It was such a relaxing weekend and the greatest pleasure for me was seeing my three year old act like the rough and tough wild boy that I know he is but always gets in trouble for being in the city. My parenting motto for the weekend was, "Only say 'no' if he could die from it," and thank the good Lord that he came home safe and sound.

Love all of the pictures but the "muddy boots" one might be my favorite. :) Looks like you guys had a great time. (I like the new header too.)
